How does Freight Drive work?

The technology connects carriers (truck drivers) with interstate freight jobs. After downloading the app, you will then start receiving Freight job notifications with secured pricing which you can either accept or decline based on your availability. Freight Drive allows you to start delivering on your terms.

How do I get jobs?

Once you have passed through our screening process, you will be sent a link to our mobile app. Once downloaded, you are now ready to receive job notifications and accept your first load.

What equipment do I need?

All you need is a smartphone, a truck and trailer(s) and our Freight Drive App.

Do I need to deliver to the door?

The load must be delivered in accordance with the delivery instructions within the job instructions found in the app.

What if I cannot find the customer?

Please contact Freight Drive via the phone number provided in the app and we will reconfirm the address details.

How is payment handled for the customer?

The payment has already been made by the customer prior to booking. The payment will only be released to you should you deliver the load free of damage and a signature from the customer accepting the load.

What if something happens and the pickup or delivery will be late?

Should you experience any delays, please contact Freight Drive via the phone number provided in the app.

How much time do I have to accept a job offer?

It is important to remember that each job is offered to multiple carriers, so there isn’t a set timeframe. Once the app offers you a job, whoever accepts first will secure that job. So, it’s important to watch out for your job offer notifications.

What happens if I decline a delivery request?

Nothing. Every driver has the right to choose which jobs they do want from those they don’t – the power is in your hands.

What if the order isn’t ready when I get to the pickup location?

Each pickup has a time allowance. Should that time on site exceed what has been allowed then a demurrage rate is charged to the customer and you will be remunerated according to our agreement.

What if I need to cancel a delivery request I’ve accepted?

If you have accidentally accepted a job offer, you must cancel within 5 minutes of acceptance. If you cancel a job that you had already accepted, without a valid reason (see Carriers Agreement) then Freight Drive reserves the right to investigate which may result in your suspension from Freight Drive’s system.

Who can I contact if I am having issues picking up the order?

How do I get paid as a Carrier?

The Freight Drive App tracks all your jobs so once the delivery is completed, payment is made within 48 hours via direct debit through the app. Therefore, you do not have to collect payment from the shipper.

How do I navigate Navigating to the customer?

Navigation to the pickup and delivery address is easy as it is built into the app’s functionality.

How do I get jobs?
Can I turn the navigation features on and off?

Whilst moving a load through Freight Drive, you cannot turn off navigation. The navigation will automatically switch off upon completion of a job.

Are there any fees associated with using Fright Drive?

No, the app is free to use 24/7.

Will the customer be able to track my progress?

Yes, it is real-time tracking, so it is important to ensure that your phone is charged and on at all times during transit.

Am I locked into any contracts for work through Freight Drive?

No, we have a standard agreement only when moving loads through Freight Drive – no lock-in contract.

Can I use other apps or receive personal calls while online?

Yes, the app’s tracking operates in the background and does not interfere with your normal phone applications, calls, messages, etc

When is Freight Drive available in my city?

Freight Drive is available in all capital cities, 7 days-a-week. Services are subject to availability

Can I request more than one vehicle?

You sure can. However, each booking has a tracking link so in order for your load tracking to be accurate each booking can only be for one truck.

Does the system allow me to schedule a journey in advance?

Yes, you have the power to schedule all jobs in advance via the platform

How does load tracking work?

The tracking is operated by the 3G mobile phone signal provided by the driver’s smartphone. You are sent a link via email or SMS, open the message and click to open the tracking link.

How do I accept a trip fare?

Once you are happy and accept the quote, you just need to input your payment details and our carrier community will be notified immediately.

How do I request Freight Drive in rural locations and for long trips?

Easy, the online platform allows you easy access to order freights anywhere anytime across Australia. Should you make a booking for collection outside of a capital city then the nearest available vehicle will be dispatched.

What happens if I need to cancel a Freight Drive Journey?

You can cancel a job at any time. Please be aware that circumstances may warrant cancellation fees to be charged to you. Cancellation details will appear in the footer of each quote.

How do I select a payment method on a journey?

All Freight Drive quoting is automatically calculated based on the information provided by the customer and the payment provider will be notified when you request a quote.

Do customers pay tolls or surcharges?

No, the price quoted is the final price which includes any tolls or surcharges.

Do I receive a proof of delivery receipt?

Yes, once you accept the freight delivery you will receive a trip receipt.

Does Freight Drive have recurring charges?

No, all fees and charges are based on what you have to move and instantly calculated.

Am I getting a fair price?

The Freight Drive quoting algorithm calculates the journey price based on fair and reasonable transportation costs specific to each region.
